Thermal spray overview

Thermal Spray Overview:
Thermal spraying is a kind of surface strengthening technology and an important part of surface engineering technology. It has always been a new technology project promoted in China. It uses a kind of heat source (such as electric arc, plasma spraying or burning flame) to powder or silk. A technique in which a metal or non-metal material is heated to a molten or semi-molten state and then sprayed onto the surface of the pretreated substrate by means of flame leaving itself or compressed air at a certain speed to form a surface coating having various functions. .

Thermal spray principle:
Thermal spraying refers to a series of processes in which finely dispersed metal or non-metallic coating materials are deposited in a molten or semi-molten state onto a surface of a prepared substrate to form a spray coating. Floor. The coating material may be in the form of powder, ribbon, filament or rod. The thermal spray gun provides the necessary heat from the fuel gas, arc or plasma arc, heats the thermal spray material to a plastic or molten state, and is then subjected to the acceleration of the compressed air, causing the constrained particle beam to impinge on the surface of the substrate. The particles impinging on the surface are deformed by stamping to form a laminated sheet which adheres to the surface of the prepared substrate, and then cools and accumulates, eventually forming a layered coating. The coating can achieve high temperature corrosion resistance, wear resistance, heat insulation, and electromagnetic wave resistance due to different coating materials.
Uses:
This is atomized into fine droplets or high-temperature particles under the action of high-speed airflow, and is sprayed onto the surface of the processed workpiece at a high flying speed to form a firm coating layer, so that the workpiece surface can obtain different hardness, wear resistance and resistance. Corrosion, heat resistance, oxidation resistance, heat insulation, insulation, electrical conductivity, sealing, disinfection, anti-microwave radiation and various other special physical and chemical properties. It can repair the old and waste in the maintenance of equipment, so that the scrapped parts can be "revived"; it can also be strengthened and pre-protected in the manufacture of new products, so that it can "life longevity".

Technical characteristics
1. The base material is not limited, it can be metal and non-metal, and can be sprayed on various base materials;
2. Sprayable coating materials are extremely versatile, and thermal spray technology can be used to spray almost all solid engineering materials such as cemented carbide, ceramics, metals, graphite, etc.
3. The temperature of the base material during spraying is small, and no stress or deformation occurs.
4. The operation process is flexible and convenient, and is not limited by the shape of the workpiece, and the construction is convenient;
5. The coating thickness can be from 0.01 to several millimeters;
6. The coating has various properties and can form coatings with various special functions such as abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, heat insulation, oxidation resistance, insulation, electrical conductivity and radiation protection;
7. Advantages such as strong adaptability and good economic returns.
