Surface treatment is a process for manually forming a surface layer on the surface of a substrate material that is different from the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of the substrate. The purpose of surface treatment is to meet the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, decoration or other special functional requirements of the product. For metal castings, our common surface treatment methods are mechanical grinding, chemical treatment, surface heat treatment, spray surface, surface treatment is to clean, clean, deburr, degrease, deoxidize the surface of the workpiece.

Introduction
Generally speaking, there are two explanations for surface treatment in China. One is generalized surface treatment, which includes various physical and chemical methods including pretreatment, electroplating, coating, chemical oxidation, thermal spraying, etc. The narrow surface treatment, that is, only the sandblasting, polishing, etc., is the pre-processing part we often say. What we are talking about below is mainly the narrow surface treatment.
During the processing, transportation, storage, etc. of the workpiece, the surface often has molding sand, welding slag, dust, oil and other contaminants left by scale and rust. If the coating can be firmly attached to the surface of the workpiece, the surface of the workpiece must be cleaned before painting. Otherwise, it will not only affect the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating to the metal, but also make the base metal even if it is coated. Corrosion can also continue under layer protection, causing the coating to peel off, affecting the mechanical properties and service life of the workpiece. Therefore, the surface treatment before the painting of the workpiece is an important guarantee and measure for obtaining a good quality protective layer and prolonging the service life of the product.
History
Surface treatment is the oldest technology. Since there are human beings on the earth, surface treatment is one of the earliest technologies that humans have mastered. Primitive human life is extremely difficult, living a group life. In order to survive, they make stone tools and apply grinding technology to make the stone tools have sharp edges and produce a "sharp" effect. In the Neolithic Age, the stoneware used by the primitive people was ground, the surface was fine and smooth, and the decorative effect was paid attention to, which has become the mainstream of the times.
In the primitive society, as important as the grinding stone is the original coating technology. Primitive humans have a sense of beauty. In the late Paleolithic period, they used ore dyes to paint and paint small personal items. In the Neolithic period, the invention of pottery made the original color coating technology reach its peak, forming the famous pottery art in history, and unveiling the prelude of surface treatment coating technology.
