1、 atmospheric corrosion resistant coating

This type of coating resists the corrosion of metals or alloys exposed to outdoor or indoor atmospheres, but not impregnated in liquids, where the coating resists the corrosion of wind, rain, sunlight and other climate changing conditions. All quality assessments were based on results obtained from outdoor exposure. Coatings that are used outdoors work well indoors as well.

Such coatings are:

Industrial atmosphere resistant coating. The coating can withstand harsh atmospheres with soot or chemical fumes, such as in large cities and heavy industrial areas.

Marine atmosphere resistant coating. The coating can withstand corrosion near the ocean or in salt spray conditions, where the atmosphere is salty and humid.

Coating resistant to rural atmospheric corrosion. The rural atmosphere, though free of industrial smog and salt spray of maritime climate, contains a little pollutant.

2、 impregnation-resistant corrosion coating

Immersion corrosion is when a metal or its coating is exposed to a liquid and is impregnated in whole or in part, or alternately. Corrosion resistant coatings must be resistant to corrosion in environments above or below the liquid level. There are several types of such coatings:

A coating resistant to edible fresh water. The coating is resistant to fresh water and does not alter the chemical composition of the water so as not to be edible.

Coating resistant to non-potable fresh water. This coating is resistant to non-potable fresh water, the water temperature does not exceed 52℃, PH 5~10.

Heat resistant fresh water coating. This water system is not potable, the water temperature is 52~204℃, PH value is 5~10.

Saltwater corrosion resistant coating. The coating can be immersed in whole or part in still or moving salt water or sea water.

Coatings used in the chemical and food industries. The coating can withstand chemical actions such as oils, fuels and solvents, and can resist corrosion of various foods, but cannot change the chemical composition or taste of the food.

The above two corrosion resistant coatings can be prepared by arc spraying (including high speed arc spraying) or flame spraying with zinc or aluminum.

3、 chemical corrosion resistant coating

This kind of coating can withstand the corrosion of various acid, alkali, salt solution, steam and solid. This type of coating is mainly a variety of iron, nickel and drill base alloys, self fusible alloys, non-ferrous metals, oxide ceramics, chromium carbide and tungsten carbide and other cermet. Because the thermal spraying layer has a certain porosity, so all kinds of coating must be filled and sealed. The sealant itself must also be resistant to corrosion by chemical media.
